We have been on stay at home orders due to Covid-19 pandemic for several weeks now. I have been able to get out for my job. We have also gone out on the lake with friends and to campfire (with social distancing) at the lake picnic area (lake is for our neighborhood).
But we are ready to get out of town. Ready to go camping. We have a small camping trailer (pull behind). It's been about two months since we got out. I will be perfectly happy to sit outside, read a book, and enjoy the fresh air and view of the lake.
The trailer is small but we feel fancy. Our first camper was a very basic Coleman pop up. We purchased it second hand for $2000. It had a furnace, two burner cook top, an ice box (cooled with a block of ice), and a pump sink (10 gallons of water under the bench seat). Very basic but lots of good times with our daughters and pup Jake.
We would use candles and electric lanterns for light. Loved to unzip the canvas and let in the breeze. Rain on the canvas made you really feel like you were out in nature. We would have to boil water to wash the dishes. We would play games at the dinette because there were fire bans in Colorado at the time. No sitting around the campfire at night.
To make camping more fun for our daughters, we asked them to name the pop up. They named it Max--as in the story Where the Wild Things Are. So we have continued the tradition and named our current trailer Max. We found large decals of illustrations from the book and put them on the outside of the trailer. Transformed into Max. We are looking to purchase a different trailer soon and it will be Max also.
Happy trails

Long run--on the hamster wheel
Long run today of 2 hours according to my training plan. Training for the Historic Half Marathon (part one of the Semper Fi challenge).
But with the Covid-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions, the race was canceled. They did give options to defer or to complete as a virtual race. I will complete virtual so I can stay in the Semper Fi challenge.
Did my long run indoors on the treadmill today for several reasons. Rainy weather and I needed to wear a new pair/new model year of shoes. I did not want to run in the rain. And I did not want to be far from home in case of an issue with the shoes. Shoes seem to be okay. I ordered a third pair for my rotation. Will save the bright pink ones until closer to the marathon.
So a personal record on the treadmill. Two hours running and walking. Not as far as I would have liked to go, but the time on my feet is what is important to training.
So many races have been canceled or postponed this spring. Fall is going to be crazy for some people. I have deferred until next year two races. Will complete the half virtually and another "Staycation" race virtually (10k).

Good morning. Post number one and will probably not be stellar writing.
Goals for my blog:
Goals for my blog:
- Share things I love to do. Fitness, travel, outdoors, sewing.
- Maybe help someone along the way.
- Learn new things
I am learning about blogging as I go along. I have not read too many along the way. But I would like to share my thoughts and experiences.
So welcome to my musing, feats, and wanderlust blog and journal.
Best to all.
